As part of the Support to Women and Youth Initiative Through the Promotion of Moringa in Niger, funded by the United Nations Development Programme, RisingRoad and Assistance au Développement Communautaire (ADC) conducted an initial digital assessment to better understand community members' access to digital technologies, as well as their education and skills development needs. The assessment also explored how educational multimedia resources and digital learning solutions could be adapted to the local context to support learning and community development. Data were collected by ADC's field team using survey instruments that were designed by RisingRoad.

The assessment examined access to digital devices, particularly mobile phones, the use of digital services, tools, and applications, internet connectivity, the costs associated with digital services, available sources of electricity for charging devices, and the primary barriers limiting technology use.

Participants were also asked about their interest in digital learning, including the topics they would like to study, their preferred languages of instruction, and the most appropriate methods for accessing learning resources within their communities.

The findings provide an evidence base for the design and implementation of accessible, relevant, and context-appropriate digital learning resources that will strengthen knowledge and skills, support food security initiatives, and improve the livelihoods of women, youth, and other vulnerable groups in Niger.

Our Work
Our Social Impact Model
RisingRoad dedicates its efforts to delivering products, services and programming that creates social impact at the community level. We focus on developing and testing self-sustaining digital production business models that support the digital learning and training ecosystems, from content creation to distribution.

We envision that education innovators, women-owned and women-led ventures, mobile mentors, distribution agents, learners, content creators and small business owners will all benefit from our products and services. We aspire to be catalysts for girls' education and women’s economic empowerment along their learning journey from young learners to thriving entrepreneurs, civically engaged and economically productive.
Distribution Channel Development
The ability to provide reliable distribution of digital content in developing country contexts to last mile consumers remains one of the greatest unresolved challenges.

Our goal is to sustainably reach people at the last mile. RisingRoad facilitates the distribution of educational multimedia content that is always accessible for all. We meet people where they are at and with the mobile devices that they currently use. RisingRoad delivers products and services to members with an understanding of their digital literacy needs.

The RisingRoad Baobab content distribution platform improves last mile distribution with Mobile Mentors who facilitate multimedia distribution, learning, training, mentoring, content utilization, digital skill building and digital literacy development.
RisingRoad designs and tests innovative, locally appropriate distribution models to connect the unconnected and to reach those offline or with limited access.
